Andy Warhol famously asked, “Isn’t life just a series of images that change as they repeat themselves?” The reshowing of the artist’s “Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century” series, which debuted 28 years ago in New York, offers us a chance to debate the answer. The first major West Coast exhibition of the original paintings opens this weekend, allowing viewers to encounter the artist’s striking depictions of 10 great Jewish minds, including Einstein, Kafka, and Freud. Oct. 12-Jan. 25, 2009, $10.
